Our work to understand the issues and support Refugee Week.
Refugee Week was launched with whole school assemblies at both of our campuses. The children and staff were really moved by a line from a poem entitled Home by Warsan Shire, a Somali-British writer and poet.
"you have to understand, that no one puts their children in a boat unless the water is safer than the land."
The pieces of video work that follow are responses to that line of poetry and to the work done in the classrooms to explain the complex issues around refugees in age appropriate ways.
