Marian told us all about the history of Sherwood, showing us real coins from the Medieval period - they were about 1000 years old! We heard about the story of Robin Hood and his Merry Men under the Major Oak. This is where the stories say Robin and his gang hid their treasure. 

After lunch, we moved over to the den building area. There were loads of logs and sticks to build a shelter out of. Once we had covered the dens with a tarpaulin to make them waterproof, Miss Usherwood shouted "The Sheriff is coming!" and everyone had to hide in their dens!
