Fine motor skills
Developing our fine motor skills, alongside our gross motor skills, is essential in supporting us for when we begin to learn to form letters in Reception. Strong muscles in the whole of our body is key to finding writing easy and enjoyable later on in school.
We do lots of activities on a daily basis which support the development of our motor skills. Drawing, stickering, painting, play dough, cutting, chalk, printing, threading, hole punching and much more are great ways to develop these skills without writing! Not only do they serve a really important purpose, they are also incredibly fun! Why not try a few ideas out at home!
